What Our Patients Are Saying

Your Neighborhood Dentist in Leesburg
Friendly Faces, Gentle Care, and a Practice That Feels Like Family
Highland Lakes Dental has been a trusted name in Leesburg for years, and we are proud to be a locally owned practice serving families throughout Lake County. We are not a corporate chain, and we never will be. Here, you are a neighbor, not a number.
Our practice is led by Dr. Ishbel Nieves-Reyes, owner of Highland Lakes Dental since 2011, alongside our associate dentists, Dr. Poonam Popat and Dr. Sara Elizabeth Moore. We are also joined a few times each month by Dr. Marissa Crandall Cruz, a periodontist who partners with our team on specialized gum and implant care. Together, they bring a calm chairside manner, a careful clinical eye, and a genuine commitment to making every visit a comfortable one.
- Locally owned, independent practice
- Three highly skilled dentists

Preventive Care
Preventive Care
Great oral health starts with consistent, thorough preventive care. At Highland Lakes Dental, our cleanings and exams are designed to do more than polish your teeth. We are watching for early signs of decay, gum disease, grinding, and other issues that can affect both your smile and your overall health, catching them early when they are easiest to address. Whether you are visiting for your routine six-month checkup or coming back after some time away, you will find a calm, judgment-free space and a team that takes the time to make every visit comfortable.

Restorative Care
Fillings & Restorations
When a tooth needs a little help, you want a repair that looks natural, lasts, and feels like your own tooth. Our composite fillings are tooth-colored and carefully shaped to blend seamlessly with your smile. We also use bonding to fix small chips and cracks, and we are happy to replace older silver fillings or unaesthetic restorations with modern, natural-looking alternatives. Every restoration is done with attention to detail, comfort, and longevity in mind, so you leave the chair smiling, not second-guessing the work.

Restorative Care
Crowns, Bridges & Root Canals
When a tooth is significantly damaged, decayed, or missing, restorative dentistry helps bring back both the function and the look of your natural smile. Crowns provide strength and protection for weakened teeth. Bridges fill the space left by missing teeth. And root canal treatment, despite its reputation, is a comfortable, effective way to save a tooth that might otherwise have to come out. Our team takes the time to walk you through every option, explain what to expect, and make sure you feel completely comfortable before, during, and after treatment.

Periodontal Care
Periodontics
The health of your smile starts below the surface, in the gums and bone that support every tooth. When that foundation needs extra care, whether it is treating gum disease, rebuilding lost bone, or preparing for implants, having a skilled, steady team in your corner makes all the difference. We offer a full range of periodontal services in a calm, comfortable setting, from gentle gum care to advanced procedures like All-on-4 implants. It is one more way we look after the whole mouth, and the whole person, so your smile stays strong for years to come.

Tooth Replacement
Tooth Replacement
Missing teeth affect more than just your smile. They can change how you eat, speak, and feel about yourself. The good news is that modern dentistry offers more options than ever, and at Highland Lakes Dental, we offer the full range right here in our office. Dental implants are a permanent, natural-looking solution that function and feel just like your own teeth. For patients who need to replace several or all of their teeth, complete and partial dentures, including hybrid implant-supported dentures that snap securely into place, can completely restore your smile and your confidence.

Sometimes a tooth needs to come out, whether due to severe damage, advanced decay, crowding, or to make room for orthodontic treatment. When extraction is the best option, you can count on our team to handle the process with care, precision, and a focus on your comfort from start to finish. We will walk you through what to expect, talk through your options for replacement if needed, and make sure your recovery is as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Bite & Comfort
Orthodontics & Bite Care
A great smile is more than just looks. The way your teeth and jaw line up affects how you chew, how you sleep, and even how you feel when you wake up. We offer SureSmile clear aligners, through Henry Schein, for adults and teens who want to straighten their smile discreetly, without traditional metal brackets or wires. For patients dealing with grinding, clenching, or jaw pain, we craft custom nightguards that protect your teeth, reduce wear, and help you wake up feeling more rested and pain-free.

Sleep & Airway
Sleep & Airway
If you snore, wake up tired, or have been told you might have sleep apnea, the answer is not always a CPAP machine. For many patients, a custom oral appliance is a comfortable, effective way to keep the airway open at night, so your body can finally get the rest it needs. We offer airway evaluations and consults for sleep breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, and craft custom oral appliances right here in our Leesburg office. These small, comfortable devices are often the best fit for patients who cannot tolerate CPAP, and we work with your medical insurance to help make treatment accessible.
