Our dental assistants are the heart of every appointment. They prep the operatory, support our doctors during procedures, keep you comfortable in the chair, and make sure every detail is just right. With a focus on technical skill and a calm, welcoming presence, they help make every visit a positive one.

Jennifer, E.F.D.A.
A New York native, Jennifer met her husband in her early 20s after moving to Spain, and the couple still travels back often as a family. They relocated to Florida in 2012, when Jennifer joined the Highland Lakes Dental team. With 30 years in the dental field, she has deep, well-rounded experience in general dentistry and especially in oral surgery. Her patients love how she takes the time to make sure they understand their treatment and feel comfortable every step of the way. Outside of work, Jennifer is mom to two children and dog mom to Simba and Lola, a pair of Cocker Spaniel and Poodle mixes. She loves hiking, beach days, and traveling with her family to new places.

Bianca, E.F.D.A.
Born in Venezuela, Bianca began her education in dentistry there before continuing her studies in the United States. She earned her Dental Assistant Expanded Functions certificate from the University of Florida while simultaneously completing her Associate's degree from Valencia College. Dentistry has been her dream since childhood, and at Highland Lakes Dental, she puts her diverse skill set to work every day, including dental assisting, front office operations, and dental insurance. In her free time, Bianca loves traveling, staying active, and going to live music performances.

Vilmarie, E.F.D.A.
Vilmarie, originally from Puerto Rico, earned a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Puerto Rico and later pursued her dental assisting studies at the University of Florida. Her enthusiasm for continuous learning is evident as she embraces her career with joy, learning something new every day. Since joining the Highland Lakes team, Vilmarie has seamlessly transitioned between different departments, showcasing her versatility. Married with three children and a lovable puppy, Vilmarie treasures moments spent with her family and friends, and enjoys cooking and creating new recipes in her downtime.

Kathy, E.F.D.A.
Kathy's journey from Columbus, Georgia to Lake County, Florida at the age of 2 marked the beginning of a life filled with adventures and meaningful connections. Her early years were rooted in teaching, as she spent 12 fulfilling years as a preschool educator before venturing into the dental field. At the heart of Kathy's career lies her genuine passion for people. Kathy and her husband, Ernesto, cherish the time they get to spend with their children and grandchildren, cruising the lake on their boat, motorcycle rides, and the vibrant atmosphere of festivals.

Latasha, E.F.D.A.
Latasha brings more than 20 years of dental experience to her role. Born and raised in Iowa, she moved to Florida in 2006 and has continued to thrive in her career ever since. Her expertise spans a wide range of dental procedures, and her patients consistently praise the high-quality, attentive care she provides. When she is not in scrubs, Latasha is a proud Iowa Hawkeyes fan and a serious health and wellness enthusiast. She has competed in powerlifting events, loves riding motorcycles, and enjoys beach days with her husband and daughter.

LaToya, C.D.A.
LaToya was born and raised in Florida and has over 8 years of experience in the dental field. She began her career as a business associate and later advanced her skills to become a certified dental assistant. LaToya uses her combined expertise to provide excellent patient care and is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and confident during their dental visit. Outside of dentistry, LaToya loves spending time with her family and her son, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, and enjoying the Marvel universe.
